What’s up?

December 10, 2009

XYZ: Hey, How are you?

Me: Hi, am fine.. What about you?

XYZ: Okies… chal raha hain… aur batao… wassup?

Me: Nothing much; work pressure 😦

ABC: Hiiiiiiiiiii, ki khobor? (what news?)

Me: The same… too much work pressure 😦

Nowadays, I am trying to figure out better ways to say the same old thing… may be a better way to start the same old conversation…

1. My life sucks, instead of “am fine”

2. I guess, tomorrow I am going to commit suicide!

3. Don’t ask such silly questions (to ki khobor)

4. I am up to something big… will let you know later (and hope that the person dies of curiosity)

5. Can’t disclose.. state top secret (in answer to wassup)

I can’t think of more… Any help?

Hehe…work pressure? i bet i never used that term anytime but it surely is a way to stop people asking anything further 😛

Wassup term is making me sick nowadays. And let me tell you I’ve met a few people who say, ‘What is up?’ instead of the accepted vernacular, ‘what’s up’ or ‘whatz up’ or ‘wassup?’ he he he.. 🙂
Very nice post. I could relate easily. 🙂

It’s very annoying to be asked ‘wassup’ every time a conversation is started. But the answer never changes for me – it’s usually “nothing much” in response to “wassup”, as if by reflex 😉

There’s a school of thought which posits that in certain circles, ‘ssup can be both a query as well as a response. With varying degrees of intonation and syllabic emphasis ofcourse. Ergo, hypothetically speaking, it might be possible to carry out an entire conversation but, as a series of ‘ssups.
